Walter Kloppenburg's Mine Sweeper Badge and award paper. This is the award document for Kloppenburg and it's dated 1941. Also with this is the award itself. The badge has about 70% of its original finish and has the coke bottle pin back. See below for more information on this Sailor in U-866. This is for the award document and badge only.
German WWII U-Boat grouping to a named Kreigsmarine man. Fantastic and rare grouping to Walter Kloppenburg of U-866. Large grouping starts with several framed photos. First is a large framed photo 12X10 inches and is of the U-866 and its officers and crew. Great photo of the U-Boat and on the back it names K. Kapitain Pommerehne. The next is a framed photo of Walter himself in his Gray leather U-Boat uniform. It measures 14X10. Next is a rare photo of the U-Tender WEICHSEL, dated 1938. The frame is in poor shape, but is the original frame and measures 12.5X10 inches. Nice tag on the back, this is a rare photo. Next we come to the awards and the award document. Paper document named to Walter Kloppenburg and is for the Minesweeper badge. It's dated 1941. The medal is also in the grouping and is the minesweeper badge which has about 70% of its finish, flat pin to the back. It's not marked. Next is his U-Boat badge and is the rare unmarked Junker production. Very nice shape. Has about 95% of its finish and on the back the flat pin in Silver. Last is a cloth and metal sleeve badge for a senior aircraft warning service NCO. This is a large and fantastic grouping named to one man.
