German WWII Panzer wrapper. This is an excellent example of a HEER panzer black wrapper. The wrapper is made of a fine black wool, and has sewn collar tabs, black base with pink piping and a single metal skull to each. The shoulderboards are machine sewn into the sleeve and are black wool with pink piping and silver NCO tress to each. There are two silver wash pips to each board, and you can barely see a few holes between the pips where the Regiment numbers used to be. These were removed at sometime during the war. The breast eagle is tightly hand sewn to the chest and is BeVo made white on black. All the buttons match in maker and all are original to the wrapper, I do not see any replaced. There is an Iron Cross 2nd class ribbon in the button hole. On the front are loops for three awards. The medals on the tunic are NOT included with the wrapper and are to show what medals fit, the other loops would be for the Panzer assault badge. This wrapper belonged to the tank driver and this and has a Drivers Merit badge in Bronze sewn to the left sleeve.
The liner is black cotton material and the wrapper has the cloth ties at the waist and also comes with two aluminum belt ramps on each side under the arms. The wrapper has white stamps inside with the makers name and the sizes, the maker name is a bit hard to read. This wrapper came with a small photo found in the inner pocket of the panzer crew and a few others. The photo is 3X2 inches in size. It most likely shows the wearer of the wrapper with his friends. This tunic has been in my private collection for the past 34 years. It has no mothing that I can see and shows in excellent condition.
