German WWII Army General's shoulderboards. This is a pair of RARE slip-on shoulderboards for the third highest rank, below Generalfeldmarschall. Matched pair left and right, these are in very nice condition. These are the larger size shoulderboards used for wear on the General's greatcoat, the leather greatcoat and sometimes the winter sheepskin overcoat. These are larger then shoulderboards used on a tunic. Made of gold and silver bullion cord, with two large silver washed pips to each shoulderboard. This rank is Army General, usually General of Artillery, General of infantry etc. The base is red wool and there is a tongue underneath for it to slip-on the coat. These are nice and VERY hard to find in this rank, and the larger size for the greatcoat. No mothing to the base.
