German WWII Edelweiss in metal for the Cap

German WWII edelweiss cap badge.  This is the metal emblem worn on the M43.  This one has a white finish to it and came that way originally.  Two-piece emblem.    Not 100% for sure but a few collectors have suggested the white finish was for wear when the winter white M43 cap overlay was used.
