German WWII Enlisted/NCO visor cap. This cap is piped in Black for pioneer troops. Cap is made of a fine grade wool that does have a moth nip on the front left side top edge near the piping. Cap has silver aluminum eagle and wreath with cockade. The cap has a black leather cap band with two black buckles. The leather cap band is marked and dated, hard to read on the cap though. Black vulcanized visor shows light crazing. The liner is the normal oil cloth in orange, and has an intact sweatdiamond with the size stamped underneath "56". Full tan leather sweatband is nice and has no damage, The sweatband is nicely stamped inside " BERNARD PLEUSER KOLN BERLIN 1940". The cork inner band is completely intact. The visor shows a set of holes above the stiching, BUT, this sweatband is original and originally stiched to the cap. I see no evidence of the sweatband replaced, and the inner stiching has no extra holes. This is a NICE visor cap with a few small moth nips here and there and some very light tracks on the top, but hard to see. Oil cloth liner shows use, but no damage.
