German WWII Kreigsmarine officers double breasted wool tunic. Fantastic qaulity, tailor made tunic for a KM officer. The wool is a light weight, but fine twill and is almost black in color. KM tunics range from dark blue to black. Double breasted tunic, it has three gold tress stripes on each sleeve. The rank is for Korvettenkapitian. Two stripes match one is a different tone, meaning a promotion at one time. The small gold bullion stars mean this officer was a line officer, or Seeoffizier (Sea Officer). The tunic has a Cellon weave breast eagle on it. There are loops for a medium to large ribbon bar, and loops for two awards. The buttons are gilt with the anchor and on the back are marked "KREIGSMARINE 1940". Two buttons are dated 1939, and may have been replaced at on time. The tunic has a black liner is a silk material, and has the single inner bakelite button. The tunic has a nice makers label for von der Aa, a known maker of uniforms. The tunic is not named. There are three or four small snags to the wool, here and there, but no stains or other damage. This tunic is VERY NICE!
