German WWII tropical General's M43 field cap. Very rare and very hard to find, this is a Private made or tailor made cap. Tan twill cotton material the cap is piped in Yellow/Gold cellon on the top and scallops. On the front is the issue tropical eagle, machine sewn to the cap. Below that is a metal cocade, and Golden soutach for General's. The liner of the cap is the typical Red cotton material, and in the center is the stiching remains of where a sweatdiamond once was. There is a partial Tan leather sweatband on the front, shoing some damage, but the cap looks to be worn little. A nice rare cap, this one does have damage. There is a large hole on the bottom of the bill, and the cardboard stifner is exposed, not sure what happened, but the hole is there. Also, on the left side of the cap, at the crown there is a small section of damage to the cellon piping. The vent rivets are painted Brown on the outside. Cap size is about a 55-56. This is a private made cap and not an issue cap. This cap does display nicely. If not for the damage this would be a very expensive cap!
