German WWII Army (HEER) greatcoat. Nice example of an issue greatcoat, this ones the early M36 style, with Green/Gray Wool body and the Dark Green Badge cloth collar. On the shoulders are the shoulderboards, slip-on style and are the same Dark green badge cloth material tops with Red piping for Artillery. These are rare shoulderboards as they are longer then the tunic boards, and were made for greatcoats early on, later both tunic and greatcoat used the same length board. Buttons are the standard Hollow backed pebbled buttons, they retain only about 20% of their green paint. They all seem to match which is rare to find on a combat coat. They are maker marked G.G. on the back. The liner is Tan cotton material and is nicely stamped inside with the marks name and all the size stamps. Sleeves are fully lined as well. The greatcoat is in very good shape but has been worn some. A few period repairs here and there and a small panel of wool replaced on the back side, but overall its very nice.
