German WWII Luftwaffe officers matching tunic and trousers. A fantastic set, very high rank for a Flight officer. Top quality twill wool four pocket LW tunic, has silver bullion cord piping around the collar. On the collar are tabs Flight based in Yellow with Silver bullion wire sewing to each for the rank of Major. Sew-in shoulderboards, also Flight based in Yellow and top cording in Silver for Major. On the breast, is the Luftwaffe officers eagle in Silver bullion wire. On the left side are loops for many medals, four medals, a ribbon bar and a combat clasp. Based on the tunic, and awards, this man was a pilot, either in a Fighter or a Bomber. On the left sleeve is the cufftitle for AFRIKA. This is a tunic that is for a smaller person, tall but mostly in the waist as its for a thin person. It has the Iron Cross ribbon in the button hole. Fully lined in a darkGray silk/satin material, has an inner pocket and the dagger hanger strap and "D" ring. Not named. Silver pebbled buttons on the tunic. Next are matching twill wool trousers, same material as the the tunic. These are a bit unique, there straight leg cut, but taper at the bottoms with the straps, normally seen with Fighter Pilots. Side slash pockets, rear has the adjustment belt and buckle set. A very high quality set, and a well decorated officer!
